Colby-Sawyer Defeats Bay Path in Field Hockey Action

NEW LONDON, N.H. - September 13, 2013 - Junior midfielder Jess Buckley scored twice as the Chargers earned a 3-0 win over the Wildcats of Bay Path College Friday afternoon in New London, N.H.

The Chargers scored once in the first half and twice in the second half en route to the 3-0 win. Buckley found the back of the cage 15 minutes into the first half for the first goal of the game. Junior defenseman Hannah Coggins added the second goal for the Chargers and Buckley scored her second of the afternoon with 9:56 remaining in the second half.

Junior Rebecca Perley, freshman Erika Leach and junior Katharine Kessler all had assists in the win.

Colby-Sawyer goalkeeper Jodi Dumayne posted her second win of the season saving the lone shot she faced.

The Chargers out shot the Wildcats 21-1 and saw 12 penalty corners to Bay Path's one.

Bay Path goalie Anna Meyer had 11 saves in the loss.

Colby-Sawyer returns to action Sunday September 15 at noon for the make-up game versus Becker College. Bay Path plays next tomorrow at Roger Williams for a 2:00 pm tilt versus the Hawks.
