Bay Path Puts Four onto the NECC All-Conference Team
Bay Path University placed four student-athletes on the All NECC Field Hockey team led by Senior Anna Meyer who was named NECC Goalkeeper of the Year for the 3rd year in row by the New England Collegiate Conference Field Hockey coaches. She was joined by other All-NECC Team members; senior Elizabeth Deane, junior Kristen Oliviera and sophomore, Casey LaMotte.
Meyer had an .865 save percentage, allowing only 17 goals in ten NECC contests. The senior from Millbrook, N.Y., had a 1.82 goals against average with 1 shutout. Meyer held down the backfield for the Wildcats who took a very offensive approach, often resulting in fast breaks and advantages by offenses against her.
Deane, a senior defender from Agawam, Mass., Had an assist in conference play. She was selected for the second time in her career for the All-NECC team, also being honored in 2013.
Oliveira, a junior defender from Thorndike, Mass., added three assists duirng the season. She was the Wildcats main defensive threat, and led the NECC with 3 defensive saves against her opponents. She was also selected to the NECC Sportsmanship Team
LaMotte, a sophomore forward from Agawam, Mass., scored three goals and added two assists in conference play. She was the Wildcats main offensive threat, and was frequently double teamed by opponents.
