In a commanding display of skill and teamwork, Bay Path University secured a decisive 8-0 win over the University of Maine at Presque Isle on April 13, 2025, at the South Campus Stadium. The game, which lasted just an hour and a half, saw Bay Path improve their season record to 12-12, while Me.-Presque Isle continued to struggle, falling to 1-11.
Bay Path's offensive onslaught began in the first inning, with a series of strategic plays that laid the foundation for their victory. C. Austin scored the opening run, driven in by M. Tessmer's single. The highlight of the inning came from M. Sunderland, who hit a three-run homer, bringing in M. Vera and Tessmer, and giving Bay Path a substantial 4-0 lead.
The second inning saw Bay Path extending their lead further. M. Vera added to the score with an RBI single, allowing Austin to cross home plate. S. Verrengia's fielder's choice play brought Vera home, pushing the score to 6-0.
In the third inning, an error by Me.-Presque Isle's second baseman allowed A. Burns to score, unearned, further increasing Bay Path's advantage. The fourth inning saw J. Boudreau hitting an RBI single, bringing in Sunderlan and solidifying the final score at 8-0.
