Bay Path honors two seniors' Bassett and Austin graduating early in December

HOLYOKE, Mass.- Despite a tough loss to New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) opponent the Mitchell College Mariners, sophomore guard Emmeline Bronson (Shelton, Conn.) led all players with 14 points.  Bay Path also honored two early graduating seniors in four-year forward Haleigh Bassett (Millers Falls, Mass.) and first year forward Anna Austin (Stafford Springs, Conn.). The Mariners' finished 69-31 for the conference victory.

Coming off the bench for Mitchell, freshman guard Inanna Rice (New Britain, Conn.) topped her team and tied with Bronson for high score at 14 points. She added four assists and four rebounds. Senior starting forward Francesca Pinard (Arlington, Mass.) was close behind garnering the only double double of the game with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Junior guard Jessica Lohneiss (West Hartford, Conn.) also added 13 points and four assists.

Freshman guard Yakira Edwards (Waterbury, Conn.) added nine points and led her team defensively with ten boards. Bassett finished with three rebounds and two points, while senior forward Sam Drapinski (Malden, Mass.) added four rebounds.

Mitchell is now 2-3 overall and 2-0 in the NECC, Bay Path is 1-7 on the season and 0-4 in league play.
