Bay Path drops home opener 54-47 to Medgar Ever College

LONGMEADOW, MASS.- Bay Path University opened its 2019-20 women's basketball season with a 54-47 loss against Medgar Evers College in NCAA action.  

GAME BASICS:

HALFTIME SCORE:   Medgar Evers 22 | Bay Path 29

FINAL SCORE:    Medgar Evers 54 | Bay Path 47

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Bay Path jumped out to a 13-4 lead and was up 29-22 at halftime. Medgar Evers came out of halftime and made the adjustments to hold the Wildcats to just 18 points in the 2nd half to pull out the victory. 

ON THE FLOOR NOTES:

• Bay Path: Emmeline Bronson (Shelton, Conn.)- 19 points;   Heaven Rodriquez (New Britain, Conn.) 10 points, 7 assists 5 rebounds
• Medgar Evers: Shae-Quan Braithwaite - 20 points, 7 rebounds;  Destiny Simmons 11 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds

LOOK AT THE NUMBERS:

• Medgar Evers outrebounded the Wildcats, 43-35.
• The Cougars made 9-17 free throws while the Wildcats hit just 7-19.
• Medgar Evers hit 42.9% of 3-pt while Bay Path shot 16.7%
