MANSFIELD, Mass. –  The NECC announced its 2019 Women's Soccer All-Conference teams and major award winners on Friday afternoon. The awards were voted on by the conference's eight coaches following the conclusion of the regular season. Seven of the conference schools are represented on the all-conference teams, with Lesley leading the way with seven honorees. Lesley, Becker College and Elms College each took home a major award.

Becker forward  Kyra Teixeira (Old Lyme, Conn.) was voted the 2019 NECC Player of the Year, while Elms' Rebecca Molin (West Hartford, Conn.) was named Goalkeeper of the Year. New England College's Kayla Paquin (Pembroke, N.H.) earned Rookie of the Year honors. Lesley head coach Paul Vasconcelos was voted Coach of the Year by his peers.

Joining Teixeira and Paquin in a first-team forward slot is Claire Hounslow (Westborough, Mass.) of Lesley. Elms and Lesley each had two midfielder selections apiece, as Elms saw Alizaya Clark (Springfield, Mass.) and Kayla Pasquel (North Attleboro, Mass.) honored, while Lesley's Maddie Deitrick (Burnet, Texas) and Julia Cohn (Farmington, Conn.) also garnered the award. Elms' Haley Richard (Monson, Mass.) is a first team defender selection, along with Kerrie Larson, (Bristol, R.I.) and Sophie Smurthwaite (Woodland Hills, Calif.), both from Lesley.  Goalkeeper of the Year, Rebecca Molin rounded out the first team.

The second team features two Lesley forwards, Chloe Kouyoumdjian (La Canada, Calif.) and Alexandria Torres (Dixon, Calif.) Dean's Miranda Seacord (Cambridge, N.Y.) fills out the second team forwards. The midfielder selections are spread out amongst four institutions, as Becker's Kristen Beidleman (Holliston, Mass.), Eastern Nazarene's Sam Bernardi (Longmeadow, Mass.), Mitchell's Lindsey Fairbank (Newington, Conn.) and New England College's  Leann Demirjian (Needham, Mass.) were each honored. Madison Bernard (Chicopee, Mass.) of Elms took a defender spot, as did Maider Ruiz de Erenchun (Acosta, Alava, Spain) of Eastern Nazarene and Madison Wheeler (Benton City, Wash.) of New England College.  Griselda Minchaca (Whittier, Calif.) of Eastern Nazarene closes out the second team at the goalkeeper slot.

NECC Player of the Year – Kyra Teixeira, Becker (Sr., Old Lyme, Conn.)

In her senior campaign, Teixeira led the NECC in goals with 18, and points with 43. Seven of her goals came in conference play, three of which were game-winners, both tops in the league. Teixiera helped the Hawks to a 5-2-0 conference record, and the No. 4 seed in the 2019 NECC Women's Soccer Championship. The senior was named Player of the Week four times this season (9/3/19, 9/9/19, 10/7/19, 10/28/19).

NECC Goalkeeper of the Year – Rebecca Molin, Elms College (Sr., GK, West Hartford, Conn.)

Senior Rebecca Molin finished her collegiate career in impressive fashion, starting all seven conference games in goal for Elms College. The senior allowed only four goals in her seven starts, leading Elms to a 5-1-1 conference record, and the second seed in the NECC Women's Soccer Championship. She posted a .867 save percentage, tops in the league. Her 0.55 goals-against average in conference play was good for second in the league. Molin was recognized as the NECC Player of the Week once this season (9/16/19). This is Molin's second NECC Goalkeeper of the Year award (2016).

NECC Rookie of the Year – Kayla Paquin, New England College (Fr., F., Pembroke, N.H.)

Freshman Kayla Paquin was an integral member of the Pilgrim offense, scoring five goals and two assists in her rookie campaign. Three of Paquin's goals were game winners, tied for tops in the league.  The rookie helped lead the Pilgrims to a 5-1-1 record, and the No. 3 seed in the 2019 NECC Women's Soccer Championship. Paquin was a one-time NECC Rookie of the Week selection (10/15/19).

Coach of the Year – Paul Vasconcelos, Lesley

In his twelfth season, Vasconcelos led the Lynx to 6-1-0 regular season conference record, and the top seed in the NECC Women's Soccer Championship.  His team was the top offensive squad in the league, as the Lynx scored 31 conference goals, more than double the next team. This is his ninth NECC Coach of the Year award, and third consecutive accolade (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018).
