Wildcats Defeated in Tri-match by Clark & Elms

WORCESTER, Mass. –

The Bay Path women's volleyball squad fell in a pair of non-conference contests during a tri-match at Clark University Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats fell to the host Cougars, 3-0 (12-25, 8-25, 12-25), and then were edged in four sets, 3-1 (25-14, 22-25, 24-26, 16-25) in the finale against Elms College.

 Against Clark, first year Anastasiya Tsetko (Horsham, Penn.) led the Bay Path attack with a team-high eight kills and a service ace. Sophomore Lilly Kibbe (Ware, Mass.) chipped in three kills with a team-high seven digs, while first year KyLee Finch (Riverton, Utah) added two kills, four digs, a service ace and a team-high seven assists in the loss.

 Clark had five players total five or more kills during the contest, led by a match-high 10 kills from senior Claudia Rivera (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico). Junior Camille Flurry (Athens, Ga.) recorded seven kills, while juniors Sheyenne Williams (Bloomfield, N.J.) and Sofia Scherrer del Llano (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) added six kills apiece. Junior Victoria Pastor (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) notched five kills with five service aces. Graduate Marimo Oka (Fukuoka, Japan) racked up a match-high eight service aces and classmate Margarita Perez Maza (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) had 11 assists in the win.

 Tsetko and Kibbe knocked 10 kills each in the four-set battle against Elms College. First year Beyhan Gonzalez (Patillas, Puerto Rico) snared a match-high 19 digs with two service aces, while junior Zyiasia Knighton (Springfield, Mass.) added 15 digs, two kills and three assists. First year Michelle Santiago (Springfield, Mass.) had 11 assists with six digs.

 The Blazers offense was led by Samantha Thoeun with a match-high 14 kills and nine digs. Jaylianne Ramos Figueroa tallied 11 kills with 13 digs, and Annabelle Dao grabbed 18 digs. Gracie Dailey amassed a match-high 28 assists with eight digs and two kills.

 The Wildcats will look to get back into the win column when they travel to Anna Maria College for a non-conference clash Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m
