The Johnson offense supplied 13 hits with four players connecting on a pair of hits to help spark a 14-6, six-inning win in game one of day.  Junior Meagan Russ (Burlington, Vt./Burlington) (pictured) not only went 2-for-3 with a triple, four RBI, with a walk, and three runs scored but also pitched all six innings scattering eight hits, allowing five earned runs, and striking out four.

Maria Gleason (Enosburg Falls, Vt./Enosburg) drove in three runs for Johnson while Erica Pustari (North Haven, Conn./North Haven) went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and run scored to lead the way for the Badgers.  Amanda McLean (Woodhaven, N.Y./HS for Environmental Sciences) was 1-for-2 with a walk, two RBI, and two runs scored and Amber McCullock (Morrisville, Vt./Peoples Academy) went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run, a walk, and a stolen base.

The Badgers exploded for six run innings in both the second and the sixth to cruise to the non-conference win.

In game two freshman pitcher Kristy McDonnell (Quechee, Vt./Hartford) allowed six hits and four earned runs while striking out three batters and McCullock went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base as the Badgers completed the sweep.

McLean went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI and Pustari supplied two RBI and run to supplement the JSC offense.  Senior Morgan Rogerson (Hardwick, Vt./Hazen) was 1-for-3 with a triple, an RBI, and a run.

Johnson scored three runs in the top of the first and held a 6-1 lead entering the bottom of the third inning but the Wildcats would respond with a four-run bottom of the third to close the gap to one at 6-5.

McDonnell would raise her game and allow just one hit over the next three innings to allow JSC an 8-5 lead going into the seventh inning.  After retiring the first two batters of the inning, McDonnell would allow consecutive singles and hit batter to load the bases.  But the rookie pitcher would get Bay Path clean-up hitter Emily Serrano to pop up to short to end the game.

Johnson will now travel to Southern Vermont College for a set of games on Sunday starting at 12:00 pm while Bay Path moves on to face MCLA at home on Sunday at 1:00 pm.
