The Simmons Volleyball team won three straight games to beat the Bay Path Wildcats in their 2011 season opener at the Holmes Sports Center at Simmons College on Thursday (Sept. 1) evening.

The Sharks broke out early in the first game, winning it 25-16 but the Wildcats remained tough, with a second game score of 25-22 in favor of the Sharks. Simmons junior Meaghan Flynn (Laguna Beach, Calif.) led the Sharks with 15 Kills, eight Digs, and two aces. Sophomore Rossi Fish (Attleboro, Mass.) also paced the Sharks with her solid play on the court. Defense Specialist Sandy Lor (Fitchburg, Mass.) anchored the defense, posting six Kills, three Digs, and two Solo Blocks.

The Sharks will travel to Gordon College for the Gordon Invitational on Saturday, September 3, 2011 for two games at 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
