Eagles Fly Past Wildcats 3-1 in NECC Field Hockey Action

LONGMEADOW, Mass.- The Wildcats of Bay Path fell in New England Collegiate Conference action 3-1 to the Eagles of Daniel Webster today at Ryan Field in women's field hockey action. Freshman forward Shayna Fish (Jaffrey, Vt.) scored the Wildcats lone goal.

Fish struck first for the host Bay Path finding the back of the net off a pass by fellow freshman teammate Katherine Chabot (Brookfield, Mass.). Despite the early 1-0 lead the Eagles were able to penetrate the Wildcats defense and score three more times.

At 15:50 on the clock freshman forward Shelby Mortin (N. Kingstown, R.I.)knotted the game on a made penalty stroke.

Mortin again had her stick in the next goal and eventual game winner passing it inside to junior forward Samantha Bark (Belfast, Maine) who chipped it past Bay Path's senior keeper Samantha Berrios (New York, N.Y.).

Both teams headed into the half, with Daniel Webster having the 2-1 advantage over the Wildcats.

The Eagles added an insurance goal in the second half by a solo shot by forward Meghan Walsh (Stoughton, Mass).

Berrios finished with three saves, while Daniel Webster senior goalkeeper Amy Prince (Hope Valley, R.I.) had four saves.
