The College of Arts and Sciences, home of the Campus Theme, is congratulating the Bay Path College student writers who participated in the first annual Campus Theme Essay Contest. This year, the theme of The Power of Choice provided an engaging and thought--provoking topic for some very talented writers.

First Place:   Stephanie Belsen, a sophomore Legal Studies major, for her essay, "Women and the Legal Profession: Why We Should Have Taken Over Already."
Stephanie wins $500 and will present her essay to the community before the Erin Gruwell lecture on Academic Achievement Day.

Second Place:   Sequoia Cox,  a first year student who is majoring in Accounting, for her essay "Empowered Leaders Lighting the Path to the Future."
Sequoia wins $250 and recognition before the Erin Gruwell lecture on Academic Achievement Day.

Honorable Mention:   Nadia Abdulmagid,  who just recently finished her undergraduate studies through the Bay Path College One Day Program and who began her graduate studies here at BPC this spring, for her essay, "Choices I Made, Choices I Respect, Choices That Changed My Life."
Congratulations to each of the participants for exercising their power of choice to put thoughts into words. Hope to see you in Mills Theatre on Academic Achievement Day on April 11, 2012 to congratulate the winners for their talents and courage. Essays will be available in print on Academic Achievement Day.
