Wildcats Fall 2-1 to Hawks in Pink Out Senior Day Field Hockey Action

LONGMEADOW, Mass.-The Wildcats fell 2-1 in a tightly played match to New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) rival Becker College during their senior day celebrations along with a Pink Out match. Bay Path honored its three seniors midfielder Danielle Poulin (Waterville, Maine), forward Deanna Flagg (Enfield, Conn.) and defender Elizabeth Barclay (Auburn, Maine).

The Hawks struck first when senior forward Brooke Cote (Fitchburg, Mass.) found the back of the net off a cross inside from sophomore defender Amy Giguere (Colrain, Mass.) at 32:00 on the clock.

The Wildcats came back in the second half knotting the score at 45:13 when freshman midfielder Breanna Hill (North Kingstown, R.I.) chipped it past the Hawks keeper freshman Gabrielle Gallo (Northport, N.Y.) off a pass sent outside the arc from junior midfielder Ruth Choate (Lewiston, Maine).

Unfortunately for the Wildcats, Becker's junior forward Michelle Griczika (Barre, Mass.) was able to take a shot off of freshman goaltender Anna Meyer (Millbrook, N.Y.) and put it back in for a goal at 47:13 on the clock.
