Colby-Sawyer Tops Bay Path in Field Hockey Action

CHICOPEE, Mass. – Three different Chargers scored goals to help visiting Colby-Sawyer College extend its winning streak to three games with a 3-0 victory over host Bay Path University on Sunday.

Bay Path (0-4) was bolstered by a solid effort in goal by senior Anna Meyer (Millbrook, N.Y.), who registered 18 saves, just two shy of her best single-game total of the year. Meyer's save percentage of .857 was her top effort of the season.

Sophomore Paige Viens (Middlebury, Vt.) registered the game-winning goal for Colby-Sawyer (4-3) with an unassisted tally 19 minutes into the contest. The goal was her third of the season.

Freshmen Jordan Teixeira (Exeter, N.H.) and Sarah Schuster (Hopkinton, N.H.) padded the Chargers' lead with second-half goals off assists from sophomore Kaitlyn Kenney (Newport, N.H) and Courtney Andrews (Bennington, Vt.), respectively.

Colby-Sawyer held a 22-0 advantage in shots and a 24-0 advantage in penalty corners on the afternoon.

Despite not having to record a save, senior Jodi Dumayne (Claremont, N.H) picked up her third shutout of the season for the Chargers.

Next up for Bay Path is the Wildcats' final non-conference matchup of the season, a trip to Mount Ida Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Colby-Sawyer will host in-state rival Daniel Webster Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
