Wildcats Clawed By Lynx

LONGMEADOW, Mass.—The Lynx of Lesley University proved too much for the Bay Path College Wildcats as they outscored their New England Collegiate Conference rivals 25-to-0 in ten innings of conference women's softball action this afternoon.  Bay Path fell 11-0 in game one and again remained scoreless 14-0 in the nightcap. Dougherty (5-6) walked only one of the 29 batters faced.

Junior outfielder Gabrielle Brixey (Coalinga, Calif.) led Lesley in the opener going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and three RBI including a two run homer in the top of the third.

In the nightcap, freshman pitcher Jennifer Dorval (Franklin, N.H.) earned the victory in her four innings of work striking out nine allowing only one hit.  Dorval is now 9-2 for the 2011 campaign. Junior reliever Stephanie Vassillion (Warner, N.H.) tossed the final inning allowing no hits closing the book on the final three Wildcats.
