Bay Path Defeats Southern Vermont

BENNINGTON, Vt. – Bay Path College defeated SVC in two games this afternoon. The first game the Mountaineers lost 16-3 and in game two they were defeated 8-3.

Freshman Emily Serrano led the Wildcats batting .714 (5-for-7) with three doubles and 2 RBI. She tallied a 1.143 slugging percentage and .778 on baseb percentage. Fellow freshman Mercedes Griffith also tallied 6 RBI  with a .600 batting average. Both pitchers senior Alex Putnam and freshman Keelin Dougherty picked up conference wins. Dougherty struck out five and alos led the way for Bay Path at the plate notching a game high nine RBI while batting .571 for the day.

Katelyn Boyd went the distance in both games for SVC allowing 24 runs on 35 hits. Putnam started for the Wildcats in game one allowing three runs on eight hits. In the nightcap, Dougherty pitched for Bay Path allowing three runs on nine hits.

Alyssa Davis led the day for the Mountaineers going 4 for 8 at the plate with three RBI's and two runs scored. Heather Kilventon picked up three hits for SVC while Jessica Eldridge had two hits, one a solo homerun. Miranda Ryan went a perfect 2 for 2 in game two for the Mountaineers.

SVC is off until Wednesday when they travel to Morrisville State. The first pitch is set for 3:00 p.m.
