LONGMEADOW, Mass. – Newbury College defeated Bay Path 7-4 in the first game of a scheduled doubleheader. The nightcap was halted in the bottom of the 2nd with the score 7-4.
Rebecca Roach (Charlton, MA) went the distance in striking out 7 whle giving up 4 runs. Keelin Dougherty (Northfield, NH) pitched for Bay Path allowing seven runs, 3 earned and striking out nine.
Joanna Robie (Andover, MA) led the day for the Nighthawks going 3 for 4 at the plate with two RBI's and two runs scored. Mercedes Griffith (Malden, MA) a solo homerun.
Bay Path is off until Tuesday when they host Mitchell College at 4 pm. Newbury plays Friday against Becker College in NECC play.
