BAY PATH FALLS IN CEDAR CREST TOURNAMENT

 

ALLENTOWN, Penn. – The Wildcats of Bay Path College unfortunately fell 61-48 in the first game to Penn State Wilkes Barre and then returned in day two falling to host Cedar Crest to a 77-32 in the 2010 Cedar Crest Tip-Off Tournament.

Senior guard Katie Begin (Weare, N.H.) nailed a career-high 21 points (7-19 from the field) leading the Wildcats in the opening game against Wilkes-Barre. Begin went 4-for-7 from behind the arc. She added two rebounds, one assist and four steals. Freshman point guard Justine Hook (Berwick, Penn.) added ten points, six rebounds and two assists. Defensively sophomore guard Brittney Alexander (Enfield, Conn.) led the Wildcats with seven boards. Alexander also chipped in five assists, five points and two steals.

Newcomer Hook led Bay Path in day two of the tournament against host Cedar Crest with her first collegiate double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. She also added three assists. Fellow freshman forward Taylor Riley (Colchester, Vt.) added six points and four rebounds.
