Pride Defeat Wildcats in NECC Game

HOLYOKE, Mass.-  Bay Path College fell to Regis College 59-36 tonight at the Bartley Center in another New England Collegiate College Conference (NECC) game.  The Wildcats' senior forward Kayla Skiffington (East Longmeadow, Mass.) led all players with a game high 17 points.

Three starting members of the Pride scored in the double figures for the night with freshman forward Amanda Hawkesworth (Abington, Mass.) topping her team at 13 points and seven rebounds. Junior guard Janaya Bradley (New Haven, Conn.) wasn't far behind with 12 points while sophomore forward Michaela Maguire (Revere, Mass.) finished with 10 points.

Regis outhustled Bay Path under the boards with 55 rebounds to 34 for the night. Junior guard Emilee Marro (Bedford, N.H.) garnered the game high 10 boards.  Bay Path's senior guard Justine Hook (Berwick, Penn.) and junior forward Katherine Chabot (Brookfield, Mass.) each finished with six rebounds.

The Pride went on a scoring tear in the final seven minutes holding the Wildcats to 11 points until Skiffington broke up the dry spell in the final minute of the half hitting a jumper. Despite a tough half time score of 36-15, the Wildcats came on strong in the final twenty minutes of holding Regis to only 23 points in the second half while scoring 21 points.

The Wildcats will be back in action on Thursday, January 9th travelling to Lesley for an 8:00 p.m. tip-off., while Regis hosts Elms at 6:00 p.m. Regis is now 7-4 overall and 4-0 in the NECC, while Bay Path is 3-8 on the season and 2-2 in conference play.
