Bay Path Claws Past Wheelock 68-52

HOLYOKE, Mass.-  In another New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) match The Wildcats of Bay Path outshine the Wildcats of Wheelock today at the Bartley Center with a 68-52 final score. Senior forward Kayla Skiffington (East Longmeadow, Mass.) topped all players for the night with a stellar performance finishing with 25 points and 14 rebounds. She also added five assists, two steals and two blocks.

Helping Skiffington offensively was junior guard  Toni Alexander (Enfield, Conn.) and freshman guard Aaliyah Gordon (Springfield, Mass.) added 16 and 15 points respectively. Alexander had a the game high eight assists while finishing with a 88% from the line going 7-for-8. She also chipped in six rebounds and two steals, while Gordon had three steals and three rebounds.

Wheelock was led by freshman forward Michelle Woods (Wilmington, Mass.) with 23 points going 11-for-12 from the charity stripe.

Senior guard Justine Hook (Berwick, Penn.) added five points and eight rebounds. Head Coach Jill Shaw managed to use her bench effectively. Sophomore Lashawnda Underwood (Holyoke, Mass.) nailed a trey in under 20 seconds left of play to help keep Bay Path's impressive lead.

Bay Path is now 5-11 on the season and 4-5 in the NECC, while Wheelock is 2-13 overall and 1-8 in conference play.
