Regis Rolls Past Bay Path in NECC Women’s Hoops Action

HOLYOKE, Mass.- The Wildcats fell 94-44 against New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) opponent the Pride of Regis College in tonight's conference match-up.  The Pride remain at the top of the NECC with a 12-0 record in conference play and 14-5 overall, while Bay Path is now 2-13 on the season and 2-9 in league play. Senior guard Janaya Bradley (New Haven, Conn.) topped all players with 29 points shooting a .778 three-point percentage nailing 7-out-of-9 from the arc. While the Wildcats were led by sophomore forward Frankie Wauneka (Easthampton, Mass.) and junior guard Dallas Jackson (Springfield, Mass.) each contributing 17 points.

Three out of the five starters for the Pride scored in the double figures scoring 39 of their points from downtown. Bradley also added six rebounds and three assists for her thirty minutes of play.

 Senior guard Emilee Marro (Bedford, N.H.) chipped in 18 points including three treys. She finished with the game high six assists. Sophomore Forward Amanda Hawkesworth (Abington, Mass.) added16 points and five rebounds for her team.

Bay Path's sophomore guard Brenna Roy (Stafford Springs, Conn.) was perfect from the charity strip going 6-for-6 scoring eight points and adding three rebounds. Wauneka led all players defensively with ten rebounds finishing with the only double double in the game. Sophomore guard Aaliyah Gordon (Springfield, Mass.) rounded out Bay Path's scoring.

Coming off the bench for Regis, junior guard Alyssa Lanpher (Princeton, Mass.) added seven points and four rebounds. Junior forward and six man Michaela Maguire (Revere, Mass.) led her team with seven rebounds and four steals.

Bay Path travels to Daniel Webster on Saturday, February 7th for a 1:00 p.m. tip-off, while Regis heads to Newbury on Saturday for a noon start.
