Wildcats beat Lesley University in NECC Women's Basketball action 72-61

LONGMEADOW, MASS.- Bay Path University defeated Lesley University 72-61 to get its 1st NECC win of the season at the Bartley Center this afternoon.    

GAME BASICS:

HALFTIME SCORE:   Bay Path 33 - Lesley 37

FINAL SCORE:    Bay Path 72 - Lesley 61

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Bay Path and Lesley battled back and forth throughout the 1st half before Bay Path dominated the 3rd period to pull away and win.  Emmeline Bronson score 14 points in that 3rd quarter to extend the lead to 54-48.  Both teams saw 9 lead changes and 11 ties during this well played game.   

ON THE FLOOR NOTES:

• Bay Path: Emmeline Bronson (Shelton, Conn.)- 38 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists;   Heaven Rodriquez (New Britain, Conn.) 20 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds
• Lesley: Dakota Jones (Torrance, Calif.) - 25 points, 22 rebounds;  Tallin Goldberg 20 points, 4 assists 

LOOK AT THE NUMBERS:

• Lesley outrebounded the Wildcats, 54-36.
• Bay Path outshot Lesley 40.5% to 35.4%

 GAME NOTES:

• The first time Bay Path has played since the 2018-19 season when Lesley beat Bay Path 86-18 and 80-40.
