Wheelock Takes Bay Path in Conference Women’s Lacrosse Match

LONGMEADOW, Mass.- Bay Path College hosted fellow Wildcats of Wheelock College today in New England Collegiate Conference women's lacrosse match falling 19-1 today at Ryan Field.  Bay Path's lone goal came at 22:02 in the second half when sophomore defender Brittany Morin (Holyoke, Mass.) broke up the shut-out off a pass from junior midfielder Megan Squadrito (Ellington, Conn.).

Two Wheelock Wildcats scored four goals including junior forward Emma Marrs (Old Lyme, Conn.) who also served up five assists leading her team. Junior midfielder Molly Centore (Kennebunk, Maine) was the other Wheelock Wildcat that tallied four goals. Marrs scored the first goal while Centore notched the eventual game winner.

Three other Wheelock players finished with hat-tricks on the day including senior midfielder Christina Cubera (Baltimore, Md.), freshman midfielder Violet Vig (Glastonbury, Conn.) and junior midfielder Katie Gavin (Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass.). Gavin added two assists and Cubera one for the match.

Bay Path's sophomore keeper Kimberly Drahushuk (Hudson, N.Y.) had nine saves facing 28 shots, while freshman goalie Meghan Lewis (South Berwick, Maine) picked up the win with seven saves.

Bay Path is now 0-7 on the season 0-4 in NECC play, Wheelock advances to 4-6 overall and 3-1 in conference play. Regis will travel to Salve Regina for a 4:30 p.m. game on Tuesday, April 23rd , while Bay Path hosts Elms College on Friday, April 25th for a 5:30 p.m. game time.
