Wildcats Ground Eagles in NECC Lacrosse Match

Tancredi, Mitchell, Aboagye, Monsalve and Bayreuther Honored During Senior Day

LONGMEADOW, Mass.- In  another New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's lacrosse match, the Wildcats defeated the Eagles of Daniel Webster College 15-10 during their final home game and senior day honors. One of the five seniors honored post match attacker Nicole Mitchell (Hopkinton, N.H.) led the way with six goals for Bay Path. 

The Eagles' freshman midfielder Amanda Dargie (Melbourne, Fla.) topped her team with six goals.  The Wildcats' freshman attacker Kaylee Herring (Worcester, Vt.) notched her career and season high with five goals.

Mitchell scored off the first draw control with Dargie answering back at 28:27. Herring scored the third goal and the Wildcats never lost the lead despite Daniel Webster coming close a few times.

Freshman attacker Dallas Jackson (Springfield, Mass.) netted the fourth and ninth goal for the Wildcats.  Fellow senior Megan Tancredi (Newington, Conn.) tallied the sixth goal and added an assist on the tenth goal and first score of the second half by freshman midfielder Elena Helming (Maplewood, N.J.). Helming also added two assists for the match.  Senior attacker Kacie Bayreuther (East Lyme, Conn.) also tallied two assists for her final home appearance.  Senior defender Edna Aboagye (Wappinger Falls, N.Y.) chipped in two ground balls.

Daniel Webster's senior attacker Alexis Pavelock (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) added three goals, while sophomore Madeline Roulier (Pittsfield, Mass.) rounded out the scoring netting the seventh goal for the Eagles at 18:46 on the clock.

Bay Path's final senior honoree was Nataly Monsalve (Norwalk, Conn.). Freshman keeper Nicole Gousey (Enfield, Conn.) picked up her second victory with nine saves facing 19 shots, 14 on goal.  The Eagles' freshman goal keeper Michelle Davis (McKinney, Tex.) suffered the loss facing 30 shots with 15 saves.

Mitchell has totaled 31 goals, three assists, and 34 points for her three years of play with the newbie Wildcats program that began three seasons ago. Tancredi has tallied 13 goals and three assists for 26 points.  Both players started in the inaugural season in 2012. Aboagye and Bayreuther both joined the team this season. Bayreuther has one goal and two assists.  Both have started and played in all seven games. Monsalve has played in four games for the Wildcats.

Bay Path is now 2-16 overall and 2-4 in the NECC play, Daniel Webster is 0-10 on the season and 0-6 in conference play.
