Bay Path Falls 11-0 to St. Joseph

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Despite an extremely tough loss by the Wildcats of Bay Pay sophomore keeper Melina Isdith (Rego Park, N.Y.) tallied 19 saves facing 38 shots, 30 of which were on goal. Bay Path fell 11-0 in NCAA Division III regional women's soccer action to the Blue Jays of St. Joseph (Conn.).

Sophomore Courtney Cesca (Winsted, Conn.) scored four goals and sophomore Patricia Nolan had three as Saint Joseph College (3-1) defeated Bay Path (0-4) Monday in a non-conference game at Saint Joseph.

Stacey Rutledge (Meriden, Conn.) and Katie Mirabella (Seymour, Conn.) each had a goal and an assist for Saint Joseph, which outshot Bay Path, 38-0. Nicole Mendelson (Southbury, Conn.) and Tiana Saraceno (Plainville, Conn.) also scored goals and Kelley Downey (East Hampton, Conn.) had two assists.

Saint Joseph scored 4:32 into the game when Mendelson's corner kick went in the goal off a Bay Path defender. It was 7-0 at halftime and the Blue Jays took 25 first-half shots.

The 11 goals scored by Saint Joseph are the second most in school history. The Blue Jays scored 13 in a shutout win over Pine Manor, Oct. 8, 2003.
