Bay Path Falls in NECC Match to Lesley

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University improved to 7-3-0 and 3-0-0 in New England Collegiate Conference play with an 11-0 win over Bay Path (2-7-0, 1-2-0 NECC) Tuesday night at Edward Field.

Veronica Halen (San Diego, Calif.) scored two goals, while Jenna Fralick and Kate Ryder each added three points as nine different Lynx scored goals in the team's fourth straight win.

The Lynx wasted little time getting on the board, with Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) finding Halen on a low pass to her right at the top of the keeper box, and Halen fired a shot right on Wildcats goalkeeper Melina Isdith, but the wet ball slipped through the keeper's hands for the game's first goal at 2:44.

Halen struck for her second time at 13:41, beating Isdith to her right on a shot from the left wing from just inside the keeper box. Her second of the night and tenth of the season put the home team ahead, 2-0.

Sarah Apgar (Andover, N.J.) converting on a feed from Ryder (Glastonbury, Conn.) at 30:51. Jackee Sanchez's (Santa Clarita, Calif.) league-leading 11th goal of the year at 33:08 extended the lead to 4-0, and Ryder's third goal of the year and third points of the night upped the Lynx margin to 5-0.

Fralick scored her third points of the night at 38:13 on a shot inside the left post to make it a 6-0 lead at halftime. For the half, Lesley outshot the Wildcats 22-1.

An own-goal on a Lynx cross that deflected off a Bay Path defender and inside the left post opened the second half, followed by an Alexis Giusti (Meridian, Calif) strike from 25 yards into the top left corner of the net to make it 8-0. Courtney Hopkins (Watertown, Mass.) beat Isdith on a chip from across the field from 20 yards to the right, and Kelsey Fitzgerald (Upton, Mass.) put the Lynx in double-figures on a long shot from the left corner that curved into the top center of the net over an outstretched Isdith.

Casey Decareau's (Haverhill, Mass.) second goal of the season wrapped up the scoring at 11-0.

For Bay Path, Isdith (Rego Park, N.Y.) made a game-high 11 saves in net.

Now winners of four in a row, over which time the Lynx have outscored their opponents 33-0, Lesley returns to play on Saturday at noon at Wheelock. Bay Path plays host to Southern Vermont Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
