Bay Path Falls 4-0 to Elms in NECC Women’s Soccer Action

Wright and Flores Honored in Tough Loss for Bay Path on Senior Day

LONGMEADOW, Mass.- The Wildcats of Bay Path fell 4-0 to local conference rival Elms College 4-0 today at Ryan Field on Senior Day in NCAA DIII women's soccer action.

Elms 'senior forward Jennifer Killion (Cambridge, Mass.) started the attack slicing the ball past Bay Path's sophomore keeper Melina Isdith (Rego Park, N.Y.) after a misplayed clear by a Bay Path defender.

The Blazers would again score in the 27th minute of play when freshman midfielder Kelley Haggerty (Wynantskill, N.Y.) found the back of the net on quick touch in the middle after a free kick by sophomore midfielder Ashley Venancio (Ludlow, Mass.).

Coming off the bench freshman midfielder Katherine Hunt (Enfield, Conn.) would finish off the scoring in the first half for the Blazers with a flick into the right corner to put Elms up 3-0 heading into the halftime break.

After the break, Bay Path picked up their offensive front taking six more shots unfortunately unable to score. Despite taking 14 shots Elms managed to find the back of the net a final time at 62:02 on the clock when Killion again nabbed her ninth goal on the season finding the hole.

Two senior members of the Wildcats were honored today for playing their final home contest.  Senior midfielder Dajara Wright (Chicopee, Mass.) and senior defender Bridgette Flores (Somerville, Mass.) played all 90 minutes today for the Wildcats.

Isdith suffered the loss facing 26 shots, 15 on goal with eleven saves. Senior goalkeeper Kelly Callahan (Monson, Mass.) nabbed the shut-out with four saves.

Elms is now 7-5-3 overall and 4-1-2 in conference play, Bay Path falls to 3-11-0 and 2-5-0 in the NECC. The Blazers will host Wheelock in another conference match on Wednesday, October 26th at 7:00 p.m. Bay Path will travel to Mitchell for a conference match on Tuesday, October 25th for a 3:30 p.m. start.
