Hawks Fly Past Wildcats 6-1

LONGMEADOW, Mass.- Bay Path University Wildcats fell 6-1 to New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) opponent the Hawks of Becker College today at Ryan Field. Despite falling behind by six goals the Wildcats managed to break-up the shut-out in the 58th minute of play when junior forward Dallas Jackson (Springfield, Mass.) found the back of the net after a well placed cross by senior midfielder Katie Mikolajczak (Griswold, Conn.).

Becker struck first at 14:45 on the clock after sophomore forward Alison Mosdale (Marlborough, Conn.) drew out the Wildcats' junior goalie Briana Kujawski (Webster, Mass.). Almost ten minutes later at 25:33 on the clock, freshman forward Lindsey Keith (Sutton, Mass.) connected with a header after a corner kick by junior midfielder Erika Galdamez (Concord, Calif.).

Becker's third goal came from freshman midfielder Helena Ortiz (Memphis, Tenn.) after checking into the game at 27:45 on the clock. Junior midfielder Lauren Zaleski (Avon, Mass.) had the assist.

Zaleski turned around and netted the fourth goal off a pass by freshman midfielder Ciara McKissick (Charlton, Mass.). McKissick scored the fifth and final goal in the first half at 39:49 off a well placed cross by Mosdale.

Mosdale connected with Keith to score Becker's sixth and final goal after coming out of the half-time break. Keith finished with two goals, while Mosdale had one goal and two assists.

Freshman goalie Jordyn Martel (Chicopee, Mass.) picked up the win with five saves facing eight shots, six of which were on goal.  Kujawski suffered the loss with 13 saves facing 32 shots, 19 of which were on goal.

Bay Path is now 4-8 overall and 1-3 in NECC play, Becker advances to 10-3 on the season and 3-1 in conference play.
