Wildcats' Four-Game Winning Streak Snapped by Regis

LONGMEADOW, Mass. – The Bay Path University women's soccer team saw its four-match winning streak come to an end Sunday afternoon, as Regis College posted a 5-1 victory at Ryan Field.

Bay Path freshman Joanna Feliciano (Springfield, Mass.) provided the bright spot on offense for the Wildcats, as she booted home her third goal of the season, an unassisted tally, in the 28th minute. Currently, Feliciano ranks second on the team in goals, trailing only sophomore Jailinne Ruiz (Hadley, Mass.) who has five.

Freshman Caitlyn Esposito (East Haven, Conn.) continued to be a stalwart in between the posts for Bay Path, coming off three consecutive shutouts.  Esposito notched a career-high 10 saves, despite the Wildcats being outshot 23-6.

Five different players scored goals for the Pride, which improved to 5-3-0 overall and 1-1-0 in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) play.  Bay Path currently stands 4-2-0 overall and 1-1-0 in NECC competition.

Regis scored three goals in the first 19 minutes of the contest before Feliciano put Bay Path on the board in the 28th minute to trim the Pride's lead to 3-1.

The Wildcat defense managed to keep Regis scoreless for a 57-minute stretch, but the Pride tacked on two goals in the 77th and 80th minute to close out the scoring.

Bay Path returns to action Tuesday evening with a non-conference match against host Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley.  Regis will host Rhode Island College Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. in Weston.
