Wildcats Sweep Mitchell College 9-0 in NECC Conference Opener in Women’s Tennis

LONGMEADOW, Mass.- Bay Path College swept Mitchell College 9-0 Saturday in the NECC season opener for each team.  Bay Path was led by senior Symone Watson (Hamden, Conn.). who beat #1 Mitchell  senior Carly Paterson (Gales Ferry, Conn.) , 6-1, 6-0.

Sophomore Brittany Walsh (North Smithfield, R.I.) also went undefeated on the day taking the #3 singles 6-2, 6-3 from Mitchell's  junior Alexa Litwalt (Dix Hils, N.Y.). Walsh also partnered with sophomore Taylor Wood (Castleton, N.Y.) in the #3 doubles winning 8-0.

Junior Stephanie Morin (Springfield, Mass.) also won both matches at #2 singles over freshman Sam Ryan (Quaker Hill, Conn.)  6-1, 6-1 and teams with Watson at #1 doubles 8-3.

Senior Teanna Montoya (Edgartown, Mass.) and partner junior Abigail Janneke (Waterbury, Conn.) won at #2 doubles over Litwalt and partner Sophomore  Jenny Groman (New Britain, Conn.)  8-0.

Bay Path will be back in action on Saturday, September 15 th at Albertus Magnus College at 1 pm.  Mitchell plays  next on September 21 at Lesley University.
