Worcester State Lances Wildcat

HOLYOKE, Mass.- The injury riddled Wildcats fell in three games to the Lancers of Worcester State University 25-15, 25-5 and 25-5. With two Bay Path Starters sitting out due to injury, the Wildcats lost another player in the second set. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, the Lancers quickly shut them out 25-15, 25-5 and 25-5 in the final two games.

Worcester State was led by junior outside hitter Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, Mass.) with a sizzling .455 attack percentage. She tallied seven kills. Senior outside hitter Megan Brown (Dartmouth, Mass.) topped all players with 10 kills hitting .300 for the match. She also added one service ace and two digs. Senior Libero Vicki O'Brien (Canton, Mass.) finished with ten digs and seven service aces.

The Wildcats' sophomore middle hitter Gladys Reed (Hamden, Conn.) finished with four kills. Junior outside hitter Kacie Bayreuther (East Lyme, Conn.) and sophomore defensive specialist Amanda McEntee (Walton, N.Y.) both tallied four digs.

After sophomore Brittany Morin (Holyoke, Mass.) went down with an injury the Lancers took advantage of the change in line-up and sophomore Jennifer Cabral (Swansea, Mass.) served 12 straight points including four aces.

Bay Path falls to 1-12 overall, while Worcester State advances to 4-9. The Wildcats will be back in action hosting NECC opponent Newbury on Saturday, September 28th at 1:00 p.m. at Elms College
