Castleton Beats Bay Path 3-0 in Women's Volleyball

POULTNEY, Vt. – Castleton State College hit .186 while holding Bay Path College hitters to a -.098 clip as the Spartans defeated the Wildcats 3-0 in women's non-conference volleyball action on Saturday afternoon at the Eagle Dome.

Castleton (7-8, 2-0 NAC) received an almost flawless hitting game from sophomore middle hitter Kaylee Pratt who killed 10 attacks while only making one error en route to a .529 hitting percentage.  The Spartans' offense was also buoyed by freshman outside hitter Cassidy Tedeschi who had seven kills against only two erros. Freshman outside hitter Breannon Meuse paced the defense with 15 kills, while setters Shelby Smith and Michaela Babineau each recorded 12 assists in the win.

Bay Path (1-17, 0-4 NECC) was led by Kate Bartels and Elizabeth Haylette who each tallied four kills.  Kacie Bayreuther led all players with 23 digs, while setter Aaliyah Gordon led the Wildcats with 13 assists and two service aces.

Bay Path will play right again in the third match of the day against NHTI at 2 pm, while Castleton will also face NHTI, but in the fourth match of the day at 4 pm.
