Mitchell Sails Past Wildcats 3-0

HOLYOKE, Mass.- Bay Path fell 301 in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's volleyball play to the Mariners of Mitchell College tonight at the Bartley Center The Mariners won in three straight games 26-24, 25-21 and 25-17.  Bay Path's freshman setter Lexi Cears (Agawam, Mass.) notched a double double with 19 assists and 12 digs.

The Mariners' senior middle blocker Amanda Garcia (New Britain, Conn.) topped all hitter for the night with 13 kills hitting a stellar .308 attack percentage.  Junior middle blocker Amanda Rowan (Sandy Hook, Conn.) wasn't far behind with a sizzling .316 hitting percentage tallying eight kills for Mitchell.  Defensively,  senior Libero Kaisea Caramante (Old Lyme, Conn.) patrolled the floor well tonight  finishing with 18 digs.

The Wildcats offense was led by senior middle hitter Elizabeth Haylette (Terryville, Conn.) and sophomore outside hitter Lauren Vallee (Bristol, Conn). Haylette hit .211 with 7 kills while Vallee had nine kills and six digs.

Junior right side hitter Jennifer Pham (Springfield, Mass.) was effective at the serve tonight leading the way with three aces.

The Wildcats are now 7-10  on the season and 2-4  in New England Collegiate Conference play, while Mitchell advances to 3-11 overall and 1-4 in league action.
