Wildcats Sink Buccaneers 3-0

HOLYOKE, Mass.- The Wildcats of Bay Path University shut down the Buccaneers of Massachusetts Maritime in three straight games 25-16, 25-22 and 25-10 defeating them for the second time this season.  Senior middle blocker Elizabeth Haylette (Terryville, Conn.) led the way hitting a sizzling .471 for the match with eight kills and six digs. She also added one block solo and one service ace.

Sophomore Lauren Vallee (Bristol, Conn.) tied with Haylette with eight kills but also notched 13 digs and five service aces. Junior right side hitter Jennifer Pham (Springfield, Mass.) added six kills and two aces, while fellow right side and freshman Taylor Heinbokel (Agawam, Mass.) chipped in a game high eight service aces and four kills. Freshman setter Lexi Cears (Agawam, Mass.) had 26 assists and eight digs. Libero Jo Nazario (Springfield, Mass.) led the way with 16 digs.

From Mass. Maritime, senior outside hitter  Charleen Klangos (Lowell, Mass.) garnered 10 kills and seven digs. Senior middle hitter Emily Calnan (Hingham, Mass.) and freshman Jennifer Roy (Attleboro, Mass. ) combined for eight kills.  Junior  Libero Stephanie O'Connor (Westwood, Mass.) led all defensive players with 21 digs.

Bay Path advances to 8-10 on season, while the Buccaneers fall to 4-19 overall.
