Westfield State Takes Bay Path 3-0

EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass.- The Owls flew past the host Wildcats tonight in NCAA DIII women's volleyball action 3-0 with the game scores being 25-14, 25-11 and 25-19. Westfield State was led by junior outside hitter Natasha Belardo (Springfield, Mass.) with a stellar .438 attack percentage, while the Wildcats top hitter was once again freshman middle blocker Lydia Clifford (Coventry, R.I.) finishing with five kills and six digs.

Belardo tallied seven kills, seven digs and one block. Fellow owl and senior middle hitter Brianna Starkey (Rockland, Mass.) also finished with seven kills for the night. Starkey also added two service aces. Sophomore Libero Jess Haradon (Mansfield, Mass.) had ten digs, while junior setter Ally Rega (Chelmsford, Mass.) had a game high thirty assists and added two digs.

The Wildcats' senior setter Lexi Cears (Agawam, Mass.) finished with ten assists and three digs. Junior Libero Joanne Nazario (Springfield, Mass.) added eleven digs.

Westfield State is now 2-12 on the season, while Bay Path falls to 4-8 overall. The Wildcats travel to NECC rival Newbury Saturday, September 29th for a noon game, while Westfield State hosts MASCAC opponent Fitchburg State in a conference match Wednesday, September 26th at 7:00 p.m.
