Bay Path Races in 2011 Early Invitational Hosted by Westfield State

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Bay Path participated in the16th Annual James Earley Invitational held Saturday, Oct. 8, at Stanley Park. There were 354 female harriers and close to 40 teams.

Taking top honors was Coast Guard with 68 points, next was host Westfield State with 85 points. LeMoyne finished 3rd (127 pts), while UNE (134 pts) and St. Anslem (154 pts.) rounded out the top five teams.

Leading the way for the Wildcats as the second NECC runner to cross through the chute was junior Danielle Brown (Nashua, N.H.) with a time of 24:12.54 (233rd).

Next was freshman Olivia Bis (South Wildsor, Conn.) in 272nd place with a time of 23:35.59. Third for the Wildcats was junior Caitlin Reynolds (Worcester, Mass.) with a time of 26:23.27, while freshman Renea Brescia (New Milford, Conn.) was 4th (313th) tallied a 5K time of 27:39.25. Rounding out the top five for Bay Path was junior Meagan Costello (Rochester, N.H.) with a time of 28:07.81. Right behind Costello displacing was junior Jen Scointi (Cromwell, Conn.) with a time of 28:11.24.

Four more harriers participated for the Wildcats including, senior New Britain native Zuleyma Molina (30:04.33), sophomore Enfield native Vanessa Conseicao (34:01.98), sophomore  Ware native Melissa Lindsay (34:12.98) and hailing from Chester senior Brittany Castagna (34:23.50).

Bay Path will be back in action on Saturday, October 8th at the Westfield State Invitational.
