Wildcats split season ending doubleheader with CCRI

Longmeadow, Mass.

Bay Path University hosted CCRI on Sunday in a doubleheader and split a pair of games losing 10-2 and winning 9-7.

Game 1 Highlights  10-2  (2-21)

Bay Path University got behind early against CCRI 10-0 befroe putting some runs omnt he board in the 6th inning.  RBI single by Daisy Guzman (Maricopa, AZ) and Brook Evanchak (Republic, PA) higlighted the inning.  The "Wildcats" were unable to put any runs on the board throughout the game and managed 6 hits.  Kylie Silks (Littleton, Mass.) chipped in with 2 hits for Bay Path.  

Daisy Guzman (Maricopa, AZ) (L, 1-11) started and tossed a complete game for Bay Path with 3 K's.

Game 2 Highlights  9-7  (3-21)

Game two of the doubleheader saw Bay Path jump out to an early lead with 7 runs in the first inning.  The "Wildcats" put the big inning together with timley hitting and sloppy play by CCRI.  Bay Path held the lead throughout the game and withstood a fierce rally in the 7th inning by CCRI to secure the victory.  

The "Wildcats" had 11 hits in the game led by four players having multiple hits including; Daisy Guzman (Maricopa, AZ) with three and Taylor Suffoletto (Warwick R.I.), Ansley Morrison (Burlington, N.J.) and Faith Ruggiero (East Windsor, Conn.) each with a pair of hits. 

Emma Scheeren (Schaghticoke, NY) (L, 2-10) got the win in pitching the 2nd game of the doubleheader while allowing 1 earned run on 7 hits.

Bay Path University wrapped up its season and will be recognizing the team members at the Annual Sports Program on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at 6 pm.
