WNEC Women's Basketball Defeats Bay Path, 57-18

Springfield, MA - Sophomore Erin Marino (Westerly, RI) and freshman Joyce Nielson (Salisbury, CT) scored 10 points a piece and Western New England held Bay Path scoreless for the first 14 minutes of the game to lead the Golden Bears to a 57-18 win over the visiting Wildcats in women's basketball action Thursday night.

WNEC, 9-5 and winners of four straight, led 30-0 before Bay Path scored with 5:23 left in the first half.

Sarah Cote (Agawam, MA) led all rebounders with 14 for the Golden Bears.

 Melissa Palmer (Brookfield, MA) led 6-6 Bay Path with 6 points.
