LONGMEADOW, Mass. – Senior forward Joanna Feliciano (Springfield, Mass.) earned her first hat-trick of her four year career and managed to add one more goal to the tally for four total topping all performers on the day leading the Wildcats to a 8-0 sweep of the Falcons of Fisher College today in NCAA DIII women's soccer.

 

Feliciano netted the first two goals at the 16th and 28th minute of play. Junior forward Jennifer Wilson (Tolland, Conn.)  and sophomore forward Carina Facchini (Chicopee, Mass.) had the assists.

 

Sophomore midfield Aryanna Townsend (Windsor, Conn.) recorded the third goal at 31:59 on the clock on an unassisted drive up the field. She then proceeded to connect with Feliciano for the fourth and final goal of the half.

Feliciano connected with a header off a corner from Facchini in the second half in the 49th minute. Junior defender Brianna D'Astous (Chesterfield, Mass.) netted the sixth and seventh goal again with Facchini and Wilson on the assists. Wilson would then score the eighth and final goal in the final seconds of play off a cross by senior midfielder Kay Mello (Swansea, Mass.).

Senior starting goalkeeper Caitlyn Esposito (East Haven , Conn.) combined with freshman keeper Emma Martin (Palmer, Mass) for the shut-out. Esposito had four saves.

The Falcons junior goalie Olivia Handy (La Verne, Calif.) suffered the loss with 15 saves facing 36 shots; 23 on goal.

Bay Path is now 6-1-0 on the season, while Fisher falls to 1-7-1 overall. The Wildcats will be back in action on Saturday, September 28th hosting NECC opponent NEC at 1:00 p.m.
