NAC Basketball PreSeason Polls Announced

Expectations for the defending champions in the North Atlantic Conference just got a whole lot bigger.  On the eve of the start of a new campaign, the NAC Basketball Coaches Preseason Polls were announced.  Maine Farmington is slated to take the top spot for the Women.

Maine Farmington was the clear favorite, receiving eight first-place votes.  Fifth year head coach Jamie Beaudoin returns a total of nine players to his squad, including all five starters and two NAC All-Conference First Team members in the form of sophomores Kari Simpson and Karen Sirois.  Closely behind the Beavers are the Braves of Husson, who posted a 17-0 record in the Eastern Division last season and finished as runner-up to UMF.  Castelton State and Maine Maritime round out the top four, each receiving one first place vote.

Thomas edged out Mount Ida by three points in the Women's Preseason Poll for fifth place.  Lasell, Elms, Johnson State, and Becker round out the top ten in the poll.  Lesley distanced itself ahead of Wheelock and Bay Path.
