Bayreuther Selected to 2013 All-NECC Volleyball Team

Southern Vermont junior outside hitter Jessica Delgado was selected as the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Women's Volleyball Player of the Year. Delgado led the Mountaineers in hitting percentage while also helping out tremendously on the defensive and service ends of play. In eight conference matches, averaged 3.72 kills per set with a .248 hitting percentage.  The junior ranked second in the NECC with 25 service aces and ninth in digs averaging 3.66 digs per set.

Newbury junior defensive specialist Meghan McDermott was named the NECC Defensive Player of the Year. McDermott topped the conference averaging 5.29 digs per set during NECC play.

Newbury's Courtney Banks earned recognition as theNECC Rookie of the Year. The first year middle hitter leads the NECC in hitting percentage (.388), ranks second in kills per set (3.75) and kills (105).

Newbury head coach Clint Whelan was selected NECC Coach of the Year. Whelan has led the Nighthawks to a 6-2 mark in conference play.

Elms College has been honored with the league's Sportsmanship Award. NECC all-conference selections are determined by a vote of the conference coaches.
