Bay Path Falls 1-0 in Women’s Soccer Season Opener to Framingham State

LONGMEADOW, Mass.-  The Wildcats hosted the Rams in regional women's soccer action falling 1-0 in a hard fought battle. Junior goalkeeper Alma Rizvani (Prospect, Conn.) faced 23 shots tallying 13 saves allowing only one goal in her 90 minutes of effort between the sticks.

Both teams played great defense in their season openers as they headed into half-time both scoreless.  Framingham State tallied ten shots to the Wildcats four for the first half. The Rams broke up the Rizvani's shut-out in the 57th minute when freshman Megan White (Charlton, Mass.) heading a shot to Rizvani  and was able to complete the play tapping the ball into the net.

Four Wildcats managed shots for the maroon and white strikers. Junior goalkeeper Sara Sullivan (Quincy, Mass.) was awarded the win with the complete game shut-out. Sullivan finished with 3 saves.

The Rams are now 1-0, while the Wildcats fall to 0-1. Bay Path will travel Saturday to play Fitchburg for a noon start.
