NECC Releases 2013 PreSeason Field Hockey Poll
ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Anna Maria College has been chosen to finish at the top of the 2013 NECC field hockey standings in a vote by the league's coaches. The AMCATS, who received all seven first place votes and 49 points, return eight starters including NECC Rookie of the Year Kylie Dalbec from a team that won the NECC title a season ago.
Elms placed second with 37 points following a 5-1 regular season mark and an appearance in the NECC tournament final. The Blazers bring back nine starters but will need to replace the loss of all-region goalkeeper Alexandra Bonavita to graduation.
Becker was the coaches' third choice after finishing with a 4-2 conference mark a year ago. The Hawks return eight starters including a pair of senior forwards in Michelle Griczika and Carolyn Steinbeiser.
Bay Path Head Coach Katie Jones heads up the sixth season for the newbie Wildcat program. She returns seven student-athletes.
