Wildcats Fall to Pilgrims in NECC Action



LONGMEADOW, Mass.— The Wildcats of Bay Path University were shut out 10-0 and 20-0 against the Pilgrims of New England College in Conference Action. For the game the Pilgrims pitching staff recorded the shutout with sophomore Taylor Barbour (Bay Shore, N.Y.), sophomore Emily Farone (Sandtown, N.H.) and senior Gabriella Marcheschi (St. James, N.Y.) all spending time in the circle.

Senior pitcher Maddie Goodhart (Pawtucket, R.I.) suffered the loss giving up ten runs, nine earned, on 15 hits.  She fanned four batters.  She was one of only three Wildcats to hit in the opener.

Freshman infielder Daelyn Ross (Freeport, N.Y.) led her team going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. She also added a lone homer for the contest.

The Pilgrims went wild in game two scoring twenty runs having a stellar fourth inning playing off some rough defensive plays by the Wildcats.

Sophomore pitcher Kayla Vance (Clifton, N.J.) suffered the loss despite only giving up three earned runs. She had two strike-outs and four walks. Senior outfielder and reliever Jai Ruiz (Hadley, Mass.) hurled one inning of relief. Six Pilgrims each had multiple hits for the night-cap. Ruiz was one of only two Wildcats to hit safely.

 Senior outfielder Alexa Scribner (Falmouth, Mass.) led the way going 4-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
