Pioneers Defeat Wildcats in NECC Action

HOLYOKE, Mass.- The Wildcats of Bay Path University fell 91-21 to New England Collegiate Conference opponent the Pilgrims of New England College tonight in NCAA Division III women's basketball action.  Sophomore guard Emmeline Bronson (Shelton, Conn.) led all players with 15 points.

The Pilgrims' junior guard Rene Hudson (Gallatin, TN) led her team with 13 points. She also added six rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Coming off the bench for NEC, two reservists scored ten points for the contest. Senior center Anousha Boatswain (East Orange, N.J.) and freshman guard Mariah Thomas (Cypress, Tex.) each added ten points, while Boatswain also added six boards. The Pilgrims managed to play the entire bench with all but two players scoring for NEC. Junior forward Daleia Boutwell (Dorchester, Mass.) also had six rebounds.

Defensively freshman forward Nyasia Reeves (Peekskill, N.Y.) led under the boards with eight rebounds and four points. Bay Path also played their bench; freshman guard Kamryn McCorison (Southwick, Mass.) was the only other Wildcat to score for the contest.

New England College is now 13-9 overall and 12-3 in the NECC, Bay Path is 1-18 on the season and 0-13 in league play.
