Mount Ida Selected as Volleyball League Favorite
The NAC women's volleyball coaches have selected Mount Ida the favorite to win their fifth consecutive conference championshp. The Mustangs, who received six first place votes and 116 points, will be challenged to replace departing two-time NAC Player of the Year Christina Nikolaidis. Mount Ida returns senior middle hitter Adrienne Xenos who was an all-conference selection last season and named the 2005 tournament MVP as well as sophomore setter Stephanie Saito who was a standout as a freshman last year.
Lasell, who has finished runner up to Mount Ida each of the last three seasons, received four first place votes and 112 points. The Lasers will be led by senior outside hitterAngele Lavooie, a three time all-conference honoree, and junior setter Katelyn Rasich who has been and all-conference team member for the past two season. Husson was selected third receiving one first place vote adn 96 points. The Eagles will need to fill the gap left by the departed first-team all-conference selection Anne Woodsum.
