Bay Path Places 3rd at Saint Joseph College Cross Country Invitational

WEST HARTFORD, Conn., Oct. 2, 2010 -- Led by individual winner, freshman Julie Pattyson (Seymour, Conn.), the home team won the 3rd Annual Saint Joseph College Invitational Saturday at the school.

Saint Joseph won with a team total of 19 points, followed by Albertus Magnus (44) and Bay Path (73).

Bay Path's top runner was freshman Katrina Trajkovski (Wilbraham, Mass.) placing 13th with a time of 27:59. The next two Wildcat sophomore harriers Jen Scionti (Cromwell, CT.) and Meagan Costello (Rochester, NH.) came across 17th and 18th with respective times of 29:37 and 30:43 Crossing the finish line 4th and 5th for Bay Path and placing 22nd and 23rd were sophomores Pamela Racine (New Bedford, MA.) and Caitlin Reynolds (Worcester, MA.).  In a close 24th and 25th were senior Molly Dower (Troy, NH.) and junior Zulyma Molina (New Britain, CT.).  Freshman Vanessa Conceicao (Enfield, CT.) and junior Brittany Castagna (Chester, MA.) finished 28th and 29th for the Wildcats.

Pattyson finished the 3.1 miles course in 21 minutes, 18 seconds. Saint Joseph swept the top three spots as Liz Plummer (East Hampton, Conn.)was second in 22:55 and Melody Smith (Ellington, Conn.) third in 22:56. Veeronica Blekis and Alish Darin of Albertus rounded out the top five.

Noelle Bellefleur (Bloomfield, Conn.) and Alex Chmura (Nashua, N.H.)earned the remaining scoring positions for Saint Joseph at sixth and seventh overall. Katrina Trajkovski was Bay Path's top finisher in 13th place.
