Tough Losses on Senior Day for Wildcats

Gonzalez, Goodhart, Peck, Sarna-McCarthy and Ruiz honored today LONGMEADOW, Mass.— The Wildcats of Bay Path University fell 4-2 in the opener and 9-4 in the final game today honoring eight seniors including five Wildcats; designated player Shayenne Gonzalez (Enfield, Conn.), pitcher Madison Goodhart (Pawtucket, R.I.), infielder Katrina Peck (Newington, Conn.), infielder Marissa Sarna-McCarthy (Southampton, Mass.) and Jai Ruiz (Hadley, Mass.). Three graduating members of the Dean College Bulldogs were also recognized: outfielder Danielle Dumont (Nashua, N.H.), infielder Courtney Holden (Bridgeport, Conn.) and infielder Michele Sessa (Tewksbury, Mass.).
Castleton Takes Two From Wildcats

LONGMEADOW, Mass. – The Castleton University softball team captured both ends of a non-conference softball doubleheader from the Bay Path University Wildcats Tuesday afternoon at Ryan Field. The Spartans took the first game by a 20-0 count before capturing the nightcap 19-1.
Wildcats Fall to Pilgrims in NECC Action

LONGMEADOW, Mass.— The Wildcats of Bay Path University were shut out 10-0 and 20-0 against the Pilgrims of New England College in Conference Action. For the game the Pilgrims pitching staff recorded the shutout with sophomore Taylor Barbour (Bay Shore, N.Y.), sophomore Emily Farone (Sandtown, N.H.) and senior Gabriella Marcheschi (St. James, N.Y.) all spending time in the circle. Sophomore pitcher Kayla Vance (Clifton, N.J.) suffered the loss despite only giving up three earned runs. She had two strike-outs and four walks. Senior outfielder and reliever Jai Ruiz (Hadley, Mass.) hurled one inning of relief. Six Pilgrims each had multiple hits for the night-cap. Ruiz was one of only two Wildcats to hit safely.

Wildcats Take Two Over Northern Vermont-Johnson

LONGMEADOW, Mass.— Bay Path took two over Northern Vermont-Johnson.Senior pitcher Maddie Goodhart (Pawtucket, R.I.) led the Wildcats in the circle shutting down the Badgers in five innings with Bay Path winning 12-0. Goodhart allowed only one-hit ; while fanning ten batters and walking one for the opener. She also had one hit in the game. The Wildcats were led by senior catcher Katrina Peck (Newington, Conn.) and sophomore infielder/ pitcher Kayla Vance (Clifton, N.J.) who each tallied three RBI. Peck went 2-for-2 with one run, while Vance went 1-for-1 with three runs. Both tallied doubles.
