Nashua, N.H. - Host Daniel Webster dropped a NECC pair with visiting Bay Path on Saturday falling in a pair of five-run inning contests, 27-4 and 22-2.
Bay Path (4-11, 2-2 NECC) combined to hit .552 on the day led by Marissa Sarna-McCarthy (Westhampton, Mass.) who combined to go 5 for 7 with a three-run homer and nine RBI, Anna Meyer (Millbrook, N.Y.), who went 7 for 10 with eight RBI, and Lauren Vallee (Bristol, Conn.) who was 5 for 8 with two doubles, a triple and nine RBI.
Madison Goodheart (Pawtucket, R.I.) added a 3 for 4 day with a homer and two RBI and picked up both wins on the mound for the Wildcats.
Daniel Webster (2-8, 0-4 NECC) was paced by Taylor Dill's combined 4 for 5 afternoon with one RBI while Julia Bodoni (Tewksbury, Mass.) was 3 for 4 and Ashley England (Old Town, Maine) was 3 for 6. Stephanie Evans (Washington, Iowa) and Abi Goslin (Wrentham, Mass.) knocked in single runs.
Bay Path took control with a pair of 11-run innings in the first and second with Vallee going 3 for 5 with five RBI and Sarna-McCarthy finishing 3 for 5 and knocking in six include her inside-the-park three run round tripper in the fifth inning.
England was 2 for 3 in the opener for DWC while Bodoni was 2 for 2.
Bay Path again took control early in game two with a 12-run first. Meyer was 4 for 5 with five RBI while Vallee was 2 for 3 and knocked in four.
Dill was 2 for 2 to lead the Eagles in the nightcap. Goslin added a RBI triple.
The Eagles, whose Sunday NECC pair at Mitchell has been postponed, are now scheduled to play again on Wednesday when they visit Fisher for a pair beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Bay Path, whose Sunday NECC pair with Southern Vermont is also postponed, visits Wesleyan on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.
