Bay Path University got off to a strong start offensively by scoring eight runs in the first inning. The team sent 12 batters to the plate and had 8 hits with Gretchen Hale (Naugatuck, Conn.) producing a double and single. The balanced attack led to 14 hits with Lauren Vallee (Bristol, Conn.) and Katrina Peck (Newington, Conn.) slugging home runs in the game.
Vallee held the Gators scoreless in a complete game shutout. Valle had four strikeouts and only gave up 2 hits to earn her 1st victory of the year.
Next up for the Wildcats is a trip to Wheelock College for a doubleheaders on Saturday, April 23. First pitch is scheduled for 12 noon. The Gators remain on the road as they play at Southern Vermont doubleheader on Sunda, April 24 at 1 pm.
