Blue Jays Fly Past Wildcats

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Saint Joseph College sophomore Devon Diliberto (Waterbury, Conn.) went 5-for-7 shooting three-pointers and scored a game-high 17 points in 15 minutes of action as Saint Joseph defeated Bay Path 83-41 Tuesday in a non-conference game at the O'Connell Center.

Saint Joseph improved to 3-1 overall on the season. Bay Path was playing its opener.

Saint Joseph never trailed and forced Bay Path into turnovers on four of its first five possessions in scoring the first nine points. Diliberto hit four threes in the first 5:22 and Heather Framski (Prospect, Conn.) had three layups to help Saint Joseph open up its lead to 20-4. Saint Joseph shot 56 percent from the floor (20-for-26) and made six of 14 three-pointers in building a 50-14 halftime lead.

Framski and Katharine Lynch (Springfield, Mass.) scored 10 points apiece for Saint Joseph. Thirteen players scored for the Blue Jays. Brianna Ferraro (Waterbury, Conn.) had six assists.

Nicole Delano (Enfield, Conn.) scored 14 points and had a game-high nine rebounds for Bay Path and Justine Hook (Berwick, Pa.) scored 11 for the Wildcats.
